{wild flowers}

Well, it's humid outside so what's a girl to do but sit at the computer creating some cool action presets for herself. Now I just need some rad names to go with them. For now...
Wildflower pic#1: simple b&w
Wildflower pic#2: sulfur vintage b&w
Wildflower pic #3: vintage b&w
Wildflower pic #4: hard vintage

{The Road...}

I am a member of a forum and they do fun challenges called Shutterbug Shootouts and their recent Shutterbug Shootout was entitled "THE ROAD", the challenge was to take a picture of a road any way we see to interpret it. So I took this shot straight from my Bible. You can't get any clearer about the interpretation here.

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14

Sneak peek {another B family}

Another close friend of mine allowed me to take pictures of her and her boys. She has three very handsome boys, this is the youngest, Coby. You are beautiful Andrea and did a great job. Thank you for allowing me to take pictures of you and your boys. I'm not done processing the rest of the pictures which include her other two boys, but when I'm done I will post them, so stay tuned...

{puddle jumping}

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. It rained rather hard here about two weeks ago and the kids had a blast jumping in the puddles. I'm putting the finishing touches on a different B family session and hope to get them posted soon. Need permission first of course. I also have more of the other B family to post and when I complete my sister's maternity shots, I will post those as well. Next week sometime I get the chance to do the newborn session for my sister. So lots of posts coming soon...

and my roses are in full bloom.

{strawberry patch}

We picked strawberries a few days ago and I made freezer jam for the first time. It was so much fun. You'll notice my pregnant sister in the one shot and I am proud to announce her little guy was born yesterday evening. You'll be seeing his cute little pictures on here soo! The last shot is one of my sister's girls, Jenna. It was a beautiful day to pick strawberries, especially with friends and family. The kids had a blast. I have more pictures to post later, but for now I have a house to clean for 4th of July BBQ~ Have a great weekend all!

Sneak Peek {B family}

My friend Jenni has graciously allowed me to practice my new found hobby on her and her very handsome boys. They were so good at letting me take their pictures. I have plenty more pictures to post but I am not done processing them yet. I wanted to give the B family a little sneak peek at some of the great shots we got today. Thank you Jenni!
I really liked this last one because of the way baby B was looking right at the camera while everyone else was looking elsewhere. Candid shots are awesome!

{measuring up}

I really like converting black and whites but leaving some color. It really draws your attention towards the point of focus. I have another session coming up next week with a friend of mine. Her boys are so cute, I can't wait to take some pictures. I am getting excited about building a portfolio with these pictures. I hope I can start "measuring up" to the pros out there. Maybe one day I will!

Sneak Peek {Moon Maternity}

This was my first practice session. My sister at 37 weeks has allowed me to practice taking and processing maternity pictures. She is beautiful and really helped make this session what is was. There is plenty more to come, but since blogger will only let me post five at a time, you will have to wait to see the rest. I can't wait to take newborn pictures when little "boy" moon arrives in about 3 weeks or less.

{Sarah's camera}

Sarah's birthday is coming up on Wednesday, she turns 9. She has been very interested in taking pictures since I've had my camera in hand more and more these days so we figured she was old enough to have a camera of her very own. We couldn't wait to give it to her on her birthday so she got it early and has been practicing with me. I took this picture of her and she took the one below of me at the same time, and I have to say that I think she is pretty good already. Of course I might be alittle biased too, but check out her camera angle on this shot! Happy early birthday Sarah!

{the hat}

Dan bought me this hat and it totally rocks. I love sun hats and have always wanted one. Right away Grace got her cowgirl boots on and did some posing with my awesome hat.
